It’s been said that rock and roll is a young person’s game and most of us believe it. We love the image of a young rocker up there on the stage, brimming with youthful exuberance and energy, taking a stand against the old fuddy-duddies.

However, it seems that these days it’s harder than ever to be a high-school graduate with a record deal. Paying your dues is the name of the game and it’s tough to get far without years of gigging and recording under your belt.

But fear not, dear musicians. It just so happens that some of your favourite artists, legends even, didn’t ‘make it’ until later in life (we’ve compiled a list of our favourites below), so make sure you keep your head up.
