Earlier this month, Tone Deaf reported on a new guerrilla marketing campaign that has pedestrians around the world scratching their heads. That is, of course, unless you’re a fan of Aussie singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett.

Barnett recently unveiled a teaser for her upcoming music video for the track ‘Nobody Really Cares If You Don’t Go to the Party’ off her lauded debut album, Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit.

Soon, posters and billboards bearing the song’s fairly obtuse title written in the same handwriting that marks her debut began popping around the world and now Barnett herself recently popped up with her band on a random London street.

Londoners were treated to a very special surprise pseudo-busking performance from Barnett earlier this week after the singer tweeted, “Nobody really cares if you don’t come to our secret party this afternoon at 6pm somewhere in London.”

According to Mashable, the ‘Depreston’ singer and her band set themselves up between the Camden Tube Station and the Electric Ballroom beneath a giant billboard bearing the single’s title, performing the tune for a small gathering of onlookers.

While it’s not clear just when the music video is set to drop, a few of the lucky souls in attendance managed to take some footage and snaps, with one remarking on Instagram, “Casually ended up walking into a music video being filmed.”
