Following on from a triumphant return to Aussie fans at Splendour In The Grass this July, Tame Impala have just announced a huge national tour, playing outdoor amphitheatres across the country this November.
Their first Australian tour in three years, this November sees the guys kick off their tour on Saturday 7th November at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl, followed by a very special performance at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt on Wednesday 11th November, before heading to their hometown of Perth to play the Belvoir Amphitheatre on Saturday 14th November, then popping down south to perform at the Thebarton theatre in Adelaide on Wednesday 18th November and then winding things up at the Brisbane Riverstage on Saturday 21st November.
Joining the guys as main support of the tour will be LA’s Mini Mansions who following their break out performance at SXSW, the band have toured with the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Royal Blood and New Pornographers and they dropped their third LP The Great Pretenders in April this year.
This announcement comes in the wake of what was undeniably one of 2015’s most anticipated offerings – the band’s third studio album Currents. The record saw the Perth-natives escalate their stature to a universal level, accruing accolades and adulation as an international act from critics, fellow musicians, and most importantly their ever-expanding fan base. With headlining slots at Coachella and Governors Ball earlier this year, the fervent anticipation around the albums July release was heralded with a #1 debut on the ARIA charts.
