Today Melbourne’s very own Ben Wright Smith is unveiling his brand new single titled ‘Born Yawning’. Set for release via Oscar Dawson’s (of Holy Holy fame) new label imprint Ronnie Records the single comes off the back of the announcement that the talented singer songwriter with be playing as part of Bigsound 2015.

A follow on to his stunning single ‘No One’,  which was very warmly received earlier this year, this new track sees Wright Smith build on his recently garnered accolades and team up with Dawson and Ali Barter once again (it’s a pretty great formula, so why mess with it?).

2014 was a big year for Ben, it saw him release an EP to a swathe of great reviews. He received airplay on community radio both in Australia and the US and over the course of the year gained a lot of supporters in Australia, touring with the likes of D.D. Dumbo, Holy Holy, and Bertie Blackman. Ben was also invited to play the Americana Festival in Nashville twice! He also scored the Australia Council Nashville Songwriting Residency grant. The grant helped Ben travel to Nashville for three months to play shows and work with highly regarded expat producer Mark Moffatt (The Saints, The Divinyls, Neil & Tim Finn). The outcome of these fantastic opportunities we’re witnessing now.

Check out the new track below and if you like what you’re hearing be sure to visit Ben’s Facebook page and catch him on the road when tours in celebration of the ‘Born Yawning’ release (details below).
