As the story goes Sydney-bred soul punks Fait Accompli were in the midst of writing their new album earlier this year, when they were invited to test out a brand new room at King Sounds Studios in Sydney. They spent a day recording a cover they’d been playing at their recent shows.

It was meant to be an easygoing exercise just to see how the room sounded, but the band’s electrified punk version of the M.I.A classic ‘Born Free’ ended up better than anticipated and the trio decided to go ahead and release it as a single.
