Originally founded as a music school, Music Junction is a much-loved Melbourne music equipment store located in Hawthorn East. It’s been serving the local music community by providing quality gear for almost half a century.

You’d think being such a historic Melbourne institution or perhaps even common sense might insulate Music Junction from jerks who feel like ripping off a small business, but alas, a recent Facebook post from its owners, via Beat, says different.

As the owners write, they were paid a visit by an unscrupulous gentleman dressed in a cap and hoodie at about 6am yesterday (Monday, 31st August) whilst the store was closed, making off with several valuable guitars.

“Seems he has borrowed four guitars not realising we were closed. If anyone recognises the man we would appreciate any information leading to the safe return of the guitars,” the owners write, sharing several CCTV captures of the thief.

The guitars stolen include an American Standard Jade Pearl Rosewood Fingerboard, an Am Std Sunburst Maple neck, an FSR Vintage White AM STD R/wood Fingerboard, and an AM Std Olympic White, R/wood Fingerboard.

Readers can check out the full post from Music Junction embedded below, which includes serial numbers for each of the guitars, as well as several security camera shots in which the thief can be clearly made out.

As the store’s owners note, any information leading to the return of the guitars would be very much appreciated. If you recognise the man or have any other info that you think might be useful, please call Music Junction on 03 9882 7331.
