We know many of you enjoy our fortnightly music jobs column, in which we cover all of the awesome jobs in the Aussie music industry that might be of interest to our readers. Well, we might just have one to beat them all – how would you like to run a live music venue?

If you love live music, know your way around a bar or live music venue, and maybe even need a place to live, the owners of Victoria’s beloved Public Bar and Old Bar may have an opportunity that you might just find interesting.

“We are looking for someone to lease this cool pub that we own in Castlemaine. Do you or someone you know like pubs and Castlemaine? It has a bar, a kitchen, a band room, a huge courtyard plus a small residence on top that you could live in,” they write.

The venue itself is the Bridge Hotel in Castlemaine, which as we reported back in July, recently went up for sale. Just think: you could be the manager of one of Australia’s finest rural hot spots for live music.

The Bridge Hotel has hosted over 2,500 live performances over the last three years, with the likes of Courtney Barnett, Stephen Malkmus, Adalita, Cosmic Psychos, Smith Street Band, Adrian Edmondson, DD Dumbo, and more entering its hallowed walls.

The Bridge was also the distinguished winner of the Age Music Victoria Best Regional Venue award just last year. If you are interested in knowing more about this awesome opportunity, then please contact the publicans of the Old bar via [email protected].
