With the closure of the Lansdowne, another beloved Sydney live music venue bites the dust. Of course, in this case the departure is bittersweet, as the venue’s egress from the live music scene will see it make way for a music school set to train the next generation of musicians.

However, the Lansdowne, which has been operating for nearly 90 years since opening in 1926, is not going quietly. Venue owners have just announced a very special Last Call mini-festival extravaganza to give all of the venue’s fans a proper chance to say farewell.

The stacked lineup will feature an array of bands, many of whom have been Lansdowne regulars over the years, including Juice, Money For Rope, Darker Half, The Ruckus, The Lockhearts, Nerdlinger, The Dark Hawks, The Last Cavalry, Reidemeister, and many more.

In addition to this great lineup of some 14 bands, organisers will also be offering punters a BBQ, giveaways, and plenty of entertainment courtesy of the hostess Miss Burley Chassis, former staff member at the Lansdowne and drag performer.

The Lansdowne’s Last Call festival will kick off at noon on Saturday, 12th September and run till late, with the venue itself reportedly set to close doors on 29th September to make way for a new music school courtesy of Arc Education Group, who operate the Academy of Music and Performing Arts.
