Hailing from Newcastle, Trophy Eyes are a swiftly rising five-piece in the local punk and hardcore scene. Following on from the success of their 2013 EP, Everything Goes Away, the band were recruited for the latest instalment of the Vans Warped Tour in the US.

Making the trek from Pomona, California, through to Auburn, Washington, with stops in New Mexico, Texas, Georgia, Florida, New Jersey, New York, and more along the way, the band showed the US crowds what Aussie bands are made of with some explosive performances.

The band have now documented their experience on the Warped Tour in a short series of mini-docos, which chronicle their first show playing to a small smattering of fans in Pomona, right through to the conclusion of this year’s tour, as their notoriety grows.

In between, we get to spend time with the boys in the band, hearing their thoughts on what it’s like to be an Australian band on an iconic US festival and the difficulties that come with the life of a travelling musician.

“It’s hard coming home,” frontman John Floreani poignantly states. “When you’re on tour everybody loves you, everyone tells you, ‘Don’t stop what you’re doing.'”

“And when you get home everyone’s like, ‘Hey man, why are you such a bum? Why don’t you have a job?’ I guess this is my job now. I don’t ever want to go home.”
