Melbourne post-hardcore five-piece Dream On Dreamer are set to unveil their eagerly anticipated third album, Songs of Soulitude, on Friday, 13th November, following up the success of 2011’s Heartbound and 2013’s Loveless.

The first single to be lifted from the record is the thumping ‘Vertigo’, which illustrated why Dream On Dreamer have been at the forefront of Australian heavy music for years. Just listen to Marcel’s unmistakable vocals as he announces, “We are the voices for the voiceless“.

“The spirit of this record has very much been to do it for the fans,” said lead guitarist Callan Orr. When they say this one is for the fans, they mean it. The band announced last month that they would launch a very unique crowdsourcing campaign.

The campaign saw them writing and recording a song on behalf of one lucky fan who pre-ordered the album in the first week. Meanwhile, last week the band surprised all the people who pre-ordered the album in their hometown with an invitation to attend an exclusive and intimate acoustic show.

Fans were able to hear never-before-performed songs and preview the entire album. To top it off, the band have just announced they will be contacting a fan from each city who pre-orders the album this week to play an acoustic show at their house.

In a statement, the band said that being able to record with their dream team (Matt Goldman, Matt McClellan and Kris Crummet) is all due to their fans, and as a result, they have put a lot of thought into constructing ways to “give back to them”.

Be on the lookout for further surprises in the weeks leading up to the album’s release and check out the video for ‘Vertigo’ below.
