The Bank of Melbourne have today announced the four finalists of this year’s Melbourne Music Bank. These four artists will be performing at the Arts Centre next Thursday, 8th October to a panel of expert judges who will decide the winner.

This year’s campaign kicked off back in July, with a call sent out to Victorian musicians to submit an original song for a chance at the top prize – a toolkit for success, including two days of recording at Melbourne’s famous Sing Sing Studios, a music video by Oh Yeah Wow, and more.

This year’s prize also includes the services of a dedicated A-team of the industry’s finest, including management and mentoring by Chris Robinson, publicity by On The Map PR, radio plugging by Varrasso PR, and gig bookings by 123 Agency.

Organisers write that they were particularly impressed with this year’s crop of artists, who spanned a diverse array of genres, including indie, folk, pop, hip-hop, alt-rock, and electro. The four finalists are DL, Jade Alice, Napier, and Sam O’Connell.

“We were thrilled to receive triple the number of submissions this year, which confirms to us the incredible amount of talent out there. This further spurs our excitement and makes us proud to continue to support the music makers of Victoria,” said Jac Phillips, Bank of Melbourne’s Head of Brand & Marketing.
