Kiama, New South Wales natives The Vanns recently announced an extensive national tour of Australia, which is taking the talented trio from the Sunshine Coast to Perth this month, with plenty of all ages shows along the way.
The tour is set to coincide with the release of their brand new single, ‘Sunday To Sunday’, and will feature a series of headline shows as well as dates supporting their good friends The Delta Riggs across multiple stops.
The Vanns have been generating steam for a while now and their latest single, ‘Sunday To Sunday’, was recorded in Sydney with producer Nathan Sheehy, who’s best known for working with artists such as Dune Rats and Bluejuice, manning the decks.
In order to celebrate The Vanns’ latest single and their massive national tour, we decided to catch up with the boys to find out what surf spots they’ll be hitting up as they zig-zag across the country throughout this month.
Kirra Beach
Barrels, babes, barrels and babes. This beach/surf break out Kirra point is beyond hectic, sitting in those long right hand barrels getting spat out of the green room to a big ol’ tanned Spanish booty. They get me all shaky like salt and pepper baby.
Remarkable Caves
One of Tasmania’s sweet spots. Got taken out there by a few of the locals on our last national tour. Freezing my nipples off but so worth the wave, that right hander was just waiting for a backside air reverse, but I didn’t want to show off!
Kiama
This ones too good to let out to the public, those heavy reef barrels rolling up onto a shallow reef just waiting to slice ya open. Definitely one of my best surfing experiences here. Gonna have to get your hiking shoes on to find this one.
Tallows Beach, Byron Bay NSW
Byron is always a massive chill no matter where you’re hanging, but when you’re at Tallows, you avoid the crowds to just enjoy a quiet time with your mates where you can have an endless party.
Kendalls Beach, Kiama NSW
Kendalls is our local. It’s where we spend most nights getting loose with close mates, swimming with dolphins, having a casual skinny dip, meeting crazy foreigners, and waking up to old men on the beach in their buggie smugglers.
Cloudy Bay, Bruny Island TAS
Perfect for long 4×4 drives along a ridiculously epic beach in a beautiful state to find some of the best waves in the country.
