triple j has long been one of the foremost taste-makers in the Australian music scene. Ask some musicians and they’ll tell you that airplay on our national youth broadcaster can be the deciding factor in your career.

In a recent countdown of the most powerful entities in Australia, the Australian Financial Review ranked triple j behind terrorist group ISIS, lauding the broadcaster for its ability to speak to youth in a language they understand.

With the station’s taste-making power more prominent than ever, Face The Music are giving a selection of lucky Australian musicians to get some one-on-one time with delegates from triple j. You’ll be able to get advice and even pitch your music.

This year, the Melbourne-based music industry conference will be exploring the role that triple j plays in the fabric of the Australian music scene, from triple j through to triple j Unearthed, Double J, and more.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Aussie music institution, Face The Music have secured the participation of some of triple j’s key decision-makers, including Dave Ruby Howe (triple j Unearthed), Nicole Cheek (triple j) Dorothy Markek (Double J), and Jacinta Parsons (ABC Local Radio).

They’ll be discussing the behind-the-scenes processes that go towards supporting Australia’s artists, from decisions about playlisting to editorial calls on the network’s iconic segments, such as Like A Version and Live at the Wireless.

After the session, Face The Music delegates will have the “undivided attention” of the triple j team at the Face The Music triple j Listening Lounge. This will be a rare opportunity for up to 20 artists and their management.

You’ll get to sit down, one-on-one, to pitch your music to some of the most notable decision-makers at triple j and pick their brains about how to navigate your way through the Australian music industry, getting exclusive advice you won’t hear anywhere else.

It’s all part of the latest lineup additions for Face The Music 2015, which kicks off at the Arts Centre Melbourne on Friday, 13th November and runs till Saturday, 14th November. Check below for the full list of speakers.
