If you haven’t had your fill of awesome supergroups yet, you might like to know that members of Queens Of The Stone Age, Soundgarden, and Pearl Jam are forming their own side-project and they’ve dubbed it Ten Commandos.

This year has seen activity from several badass supergroups, including Alice Cooper’s Hollywood Vampires and the Nevermen, featuring members of Faith No More and TV On The Radio, but we reckon there’s just enough space for one more.

As Blabbermouth reports, Ten Commandos features Soundgarden’s Ben Shepherd; Matt Cameron, who serves as sticks man for Soundgarden and Pearl Jam; Alain Johannes of Queens Of The Stone Age; and Dimitri Coats of punk rockers OFF!.

Johannes announced the formation of the group via Instagram, revealing that the band will release their first single, ‘Staring Down The Dust’, on Friday, 9th October, with contributions from frequent QOTSA collaborator Mark Lanegan.

The single will apparently be followed by an album set to drop in November via Monkey Wrench Records, a label founded by the members of Pearl Jam. As for seeing them live, well they could be making their way down to Australia soon.

Soundwave Festival recently took to Facebook to announce that they’ll be announcing “a very exciting group” for the Soundwave 2016 lineup later tonight and we’ll apparently “know a few of the individual members”. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.

Coats first dropped the news that this star-studded lineup was working together last year during an interview with Billboard. “I’m going to be singing. Alain’s definitely singing a bit. We might invite a couple of guests at some point,” he said.

“I don’t know if we’re gonna play live or what the deal is. I just know that I really enjoy hanging out with them and I’m learning a lot and we work very quickly; before I even feel like I’ve learned a song it’s like we’re hitting the record button.”

So what will Ten Commandos actually sound like? According to Coats, “It’s a little bit like Superunknown, that kind of era of Soundgarden, mixed with Alain’s kind of Stevie Wonder vibe.” Sounds pretty damn good to us.
