It’s the news music fans have been waiting months for and it’s finally arrived. The Sugar Mountain 2016 lineup is here and it’s packed with an eclectic mix of local and international artists, including Hot Chip, Dirty Three, Courtney Barnett, and more.

Punters heading down to Melbourne’s Victorian College of the Arts this January will also get to witness performances from the likes of Julio Bashmore, Kelela, Le1f, Dām-Funk, Royal Headache, Viet Cong, Empress Of, Tim Sweeney, and Tom Trago.

While organisers write that capacity remains limited, they’re promising an increased scope for their unique site, with the introduction of brand new spaces, including the spectacular Melbourne Recital Centre, as well as expanded food and drinks offerings.

Sugar Mountain 2016 is even set to take the festival dining experience to a new level with Sensory, an immersive restaurant experiment developed in collaboration with boundary-pushers Bomba, Tin & Ed, and Cut Copy.

After taking a break in 2014, Sugar Mountain returned earlier this year with a highly lauded event that featured the likes of Nas, Ariel Pink, Body/Head, Swans, and more, with an acclaimed arts and culture program.

Sugar Mountain 2016 will be taking over the Victorian College of the Arts in the heart of Melbourne’s art precinct on Saturday, 23rd January. Tickets are set to go on sale 12pm local time Monday, 19th October. Check below for the full lineup and more details.
