Easily one of the hottest live music tickets of the year is Flight Facilities’ forthcoming collaboration with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, which is set to go down at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Saturday, 17th October.

But if you missed out, there’s still a way you can catch the show and you won’t have to fork out a single dime. Melbourne Festival are celebrating the sell-out show by streaming it live to Federation Square’s big screen.

The Flight Facilities with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra broadcast will commence at 9pm Saturday, 17th October, but if you’re thinking of heading down, it’s good idea to arrive earlier to get a good position.

The performance will see Hugo Gruzman and James Lyell taking the stage with the MSO for an unprecedented trip through their catalogue of singles and remixes, plus some newly written orchestral elements and a spectacular videoscape.

“Long before making ‘Clair de Lune’, we’ve both shared a love for classical music,” said Hugo and James. “Playing alongside an orchestra was almost inconceivable when we started Flight Facilities, but now we’ve been given the chance to collaborate and perform with one of Australia’s greatest.”

“We’re taking on the challenge of reinventing not only the way we approach our live show, but our original pieces of music, too. For us, the opportunity to have Melbourne Symphony Orchestra reinterpret the contemporary as classical, can only be described as ‘a dream come true.’”
