‘Downtown’ is the hit sequel to Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ ubiquitous 2012 single ‘Thrift Shop’, detailing a day in the life of Macklemore as he attempts to purchase a moped and take it… well, downtown, of course.

But as far as Hamish Blake is concerned, the song is totally unrealistic. For one thing, Macklemore seemingly enters the moped shop, finds a vehicle that he likes almost instantly, and then purchases it.

Hamish has now unveiled his own version of the song in which he tries to buy his own moped and naturally, it takes a few tries to get it right. After all, we’re talking about a big investment here and it’s important to do your research.

You can check out Hamish playing his more realistic version of ‘Downtown’ for partner Andy Lee below. Naturally, Andy is less than impressed with Hamish’s rather long-winded cover version.
