If you love the savings and offers provided by programs like Coles Myer’s Flybuys or Woolworths’ Everyday Rewards, but they’re simply not metal enough for you, you may be excited to learn that Soundwave now has its own rewards program.

No, really. Soundwave Rewards is an actual thing and you can sign up right now and not only receive a ticket to next year’s festival, the lineup for which was recently announced, but special offers, discounts, and Soundwave Bonus Cash.

Okay, so what is Soundwave Rewards? According to the website, it’s “a program that means your Soundwave ticket is more than just a ticket. Because it keeps on rewarding you. Before, during and after the festival”.

Basically, this year, when you buy your Soundwave ticket, instead of getting a traditional paper ticket, you’ll receive a special membership card, which will provide you with entry into the festival and serve as your Soundwave Rewards card.

After activating your card via the Soundwave Rewards website, you can start earning Soundwave Bonus Cash, which you can use at selected retailers, at the 2016 festival, or save up to spend on your Soundwave 2017 ticket.

You earn Soundwave Bonus Cash by using your membership card to buy items at participating outlets — which includes Rebel Sport, General Pants Co, and Masters Home Improvement — either in store or online or by purchasing eVouchers and iKoupons.

As Music Feeds notes, if you spend around $200 a month at one of the participating supermarkets, that’s about $2,400 a year. With Soundwave Rewards, you’ll get about a five percent cash rebate, earning yourself an extra $120 in Soundwave Bonus Cash.

You can then use this cash to put towards your everyday shopping, on site at Soundwave 2016 or save it to buy your Soundwave 2017 ticket. Like we said, it’s just like Flybuys only way more metal.

According to the official Soundwave Rewards website, this is a year-round thing and your membership will be valid for one year from the time the program launches, but could be cancelled if there’s no activity for a six-month period.

It’s certainly a unique idea for a festival to incorporate a rewards program into the ticket and for the most part, the reaction to Soundwave Rewards seems to be positive, with some taking to social media to reveal they’ve already started earning Bonus Cash.
