Ball Park Music frontman Sam Cromack is currently gearing up to embark on his first headline tour under his solo project pseudonym, My Own Pet Radio, to support the release of debut album Goodlum.

But speaking recently to triple j‘s Veronica & Lewis, Cromack revealed he’s also been busy writing new music for his flagship project, who hope to record a new album early next year.

“Yeah we’re writing again now. I’ve got a playlist in my iTunes that’s getting pretty long. Got lots and lots of ideas and songs in it,” he said of a follow-up to 2014’s Puddinghead.

“We’re going to write until the end of the year and do a bit more at the start of the year and start thinking about recording a new record at the start of next year,” the Brisbane native added.

“Paul [Furness, keys/horns] is still backpacking in Romania or whatever, so if he makes it back to Australia, I guess there’ll be keys on the album again.”

In the meantime, Goodlum dropped back in September via Stop Start and My Own Pet Radio hits the road next week, with Cromack and band hitting up select venues along the East Coast.

“My best friend Ben Fahey joins on guitar/keys and another dear friend; Alex L’Estrange – who drummed on and mixed the record – will weirdly be tonking away on the bass,” Cromack recently revealed.

“We’re also super fortunate to have recruited the drumming tour de force that is Ryan Strathie (Holy Holy, Andy Bull, Sans Parents). It’s a real dream band.”
