The father of three-year-old DJ Arch Jr, who first came to the world’s attention by going viral with a video of his sweet mixing skills in his backyard before winning South Africa’s Got Talent, has hit back at claims his son’s set was faked.

While most viewers of South Africa’s version of the popular reality contest program were too distracted by Arch Jr’s cuteness to notice if anything was up, NME reports many eagle-eyed critics called BS on the pint-sized selector’s knob-twiddling.

Critics apparently noticed that the three-year-old’s DJ controller’s audio outs weren’t actually plugged into anything, leading to claims the whole thing was a fakery a la that stunt dog scandal that rocked Britain’s Got Talent.

Writing on behalf of his son via his official Facebook page, Arch Jr’s father explained, “So I am sure you have came across picture saying ‘no audio out cables, so the mix was fake’, was my mix that good that people thought it was fake?”

“Normally when you use a computer and a controller you have 2 options when it comes to audio out, it is either you go with the computers audio out or the controllers audio out,” the post continues.

“Usually I use the controllers audio out but it gave us a buzzing sound so we had to go with the computers audio out, makes no difference really.” While this is all plausible, as the video below reveals, dad still picks all of Arch Jr’s tunes for him.
