Back in June last year, Australian band The Delta Riggs got a pleasant surprise during a UK show when none other than Jimmy Page, former guitarist for Led Zeppelin, made an appearance and even gave the group a nod.

It’s always intimidating meeting a musical hero, but Page does seem a good, friendly sort. Liam Gallagher, on the other hand, commands a reputation as being a tad more confrontational, perhaps not someone you want at your gig.

However, fellow Aussies Holy Holy have nothing bad to say about their run-in with one half of the notorious Gallagher brothers, after Liam turned up at their sold-out London show and even met the duo backstage.

As the Sydney Morning Herald reports, Holy Holy are currently in the midst of a European tour and Gallagher stopped by one of their UK dates to call the pair “the best band I’ve seen in years”, telling them he thought their album was “brilliant”.

The former Oasis and Beady Eye frontman isn’t Holy Holy’s only fan overseas. The band have sold out shows across Europe and the UK and have been garnering serious accolades for their debut album, When The Storms Would Come.
