Every now and then, a video of a local hero showing the world that classic Aussie mettle will spontaneously go viral online. The latest features seven-year-old vocalist Ethan Hall and it is by far our favourite.

Last week, Hall was given the honour of performing our national anthem before an Australian Baseball League game in Adelaide. However, he was unfortunately struck by a case of hiccups… right in the middle of his performance.

Undeterred, Hall soldiered on through the entirety of ‘Advance Australia Fair’ as players and officials tried to hold back laughter at the almost cartoonish display of cuteness that was happening over the PA.

As the footage below shows, after powering through the national anthem, a delighted Hall made the rounds high-fiving players and lapping up the applause from the crowd who all agreed it was one of the best renditions of the national anthem they’d ever heard.
