Having added a stack of legends to the lineup, including Beach Boys icon Brian Wilson, Byron Bay Bluesfest 2016 has now added a raft of great contemporary artists, including living legend D’Angelo and his band The Vanguard.

“When Bluesfest confirmed Kendrick Lamar we had the guy who produced the best record in Hip Hop this year, and now we have the guy who recorded the best current record in R&B: D’Angelo,” said Bluesfest founder Peter Noble.

“We now have playing at Bluesfest, on the same stage and on the same night (Thu 24th March), the two most important innovators in Rap and R&B today… Think Prince then James Brown and you have D’Angelo – he is that good and an absolute don’t miss!”

There’ll also be appearances from Cold War Kids, Hiatus Kaiyote, Houndmouth, Fantastic Negrito, Con Brio, Kaleo, Mike Love, The Bros. Landreth, Kim Churchill, Mojo Juju, Pierce Brothers, Harts, and the great Steve Smyth.

“And yes, fellow festival friends, there will be more announcements before Christmas,” said Mr Noble, “ensuring every music lovers needs will be fulfilled and Bluesfest 2016 will likely go down in history as one of the best music festivals in Australia and maybe worldwide.”
