It’s safe to say that Mac DeMarco is a multi-talented polymath who’s more than just a musician. But just how one categorises and even describes his extracurricular activities outside of music can vary.
In addition to numerous musical and film collaborations, including with the likes of Tyler, The Creator, DeMarco always seems to find the time to get a little silly on his own. Just ask Dave Fuck, his nighttime alter ego.
Dave Fuck is a Backer and he does his job with pride. “Some say it’s a waste of time and that most people don’t need to be backed up. I just tell them fuck you,” DeMarco Fuck recounts in the video below.
“It’s not always perfect, money’s pretty tight sometimes. These days it seems everyone’s in a big area all the time. Sometimes I feel really weird, sometimes it feels like I’m trapped.” If you haven’t figured it out, a Backer backs people into parking spaces.
