After taking a break this year, triple j’s beloved One Night Stand is set to return in 2016. The announcement was made as part of Ausmusic Month and our national youth broadcaster is already taking expressions of interest.

triple j’s One Night Stand has been bringing quality homegrown music to regional areas of Australia for 11 years now, joining Groovin The Moo and the odd regional headline tour as the only chance these punters get to see big music productions.

Previous years’ performers have included the talented likes of Flume, Hilltop Hoods, Silverchair, Art Vs Science, and The Jezabels, so you can bet next year’s event will similarly feature a stellar headliner.

Among the towns to host One Night Stand in the past are Dubbo, Tumby Bay, Alice Springs, Mildura, and Gippsland, just to name a few, which reminds us, triple j want to “spread the love around” so repeat visits are unlikely.

But if your town is a One Night Stand virgin and you reckon it’s worthy of one of Australia’s most celebrated regional music institutions, the J are “keen to hear from all over Australia for future years and opportunities”.
