Australia Just Scored Two New Open Air Live Music Venues

Australia really is the lucky country, because we just received two brand new open air live music venues in two separate states. Please welcome to Australia’s live music fold Calais Estate in the Hunter Valley and Yarra Valley Estate.

The two spaces are operated by YVC Venues and not only will they provide a boutique alternative to the existing vineyard venue options in the Yarra and Hunter Valleys, they’ve already got an awesome string of debut shows lined up.

Legendary UK electronic duo Leftfield will be christening Calais Estate and Yarra Valley Estate when they return Down Under for a pair of shows this February, bringing bangers from their brand new full-length effort, Alternative Light Source.

Formerly a commercial farm, Yarra Valley Estate was purchased by John and Louise Ward in 1983, who wanted to use the profits from their business to fund various charitable or community ventures including the disadvantaged community of PNG.

It’s now a purpose-built venue, with unique features such as its own airstrip and light aircraft, on site accommodation, pool, tennis courts as well as an on-site wildlife rescue sanctuary, Babbajin Park.

It’s located an hour’s drive North East of Melbourne and just 10 minutes by plane from Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport. Best of all, a host of big local and international shows are reportedly already confirmed for 2016.

Meanwhile, Calais Estate is not just a venue, it’s a completely self-contained boutique winery that manages all aspects of the wine making process through to the growing and harvesting of its own grapes.

An hour and 20 minutes drive north of Sydney and just 35 minutes drive from Newcastle Airport, the property is perfectly designed for live music events and concerts. It also boasts its own on-site restaurant and catering facility, a lake, and one of the best wineries in the Yarra Valley.
