As the rest of the nation engages in a collective groan and tries to hold back dry heaves at the news that disgraced sports manager Ricky Nixon is self-publishing an autobiography which tells ‘his side’ of his infamous scandals, Aussie rapper Briggs has taken matters into his own hands.

For those playing catch-up, Nixon is a former Australian rules footballer who had a prominent career as a sports agent. In 2011, reports surfaced that he had engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old girl, allegedly abusing her and providing her with alcohol.

According to the Daily Mail, the 22-year-old known as the ‘St Kilda schoolgirl’ is currently trying to block publication of Nixon’s book in court, alleging that Nixon punched her in the face and made threats against her like threatening to kill her and her family.

Shepparton emcee Briggs has long been vocal about his dislike for Nixon, whom he describes as a “washed up sports manager who got busted with an underage girl”, and let some of that vitriol out earlier this week, presumably in response to the attempted publication of Nixon’s book.

As Beat Magazine notes, Briggs’ beef with Nixon dates back to when the disgraced sports figure posted about his dissatisfaction with Adam Goodes receiving Australian of the Year in 2014 for his contributions to AFL and Indigenous community sport programs.

“Adam Goodes is Aust of the Year for berating a 14yo girl #WhatAJoke,” Nixon tweeted last year, to which Briggs responded, “Few more years and you would have dated her #DumbCunt.” The comment apparently did not sit well with Nixon.

“The coward [Ricky Nixon] blocked me because I dropped this certified banger on him,” the rapper tweeted on Sunday, sharing a screen-grab of his 2014 post. A bitter and tongue-in-cheek back and forth soon ensued between the two, with Briggs handily coming out on top.

While Nixon has since set his account to private, barring the public from viewing his tweets, readers can still see several highlights from the beef on Briggs’ Twitter page, including a pic of To Catch A Predator‘s Chris Hansen directed at Nixon.

When one of the emcee’s followers suggested they feed Nixon to ISIS, Briggs responded by informing the imaginative fan that while “that’d be nice… they don’t dine on swine.” We can safely say Briggs reigned victorious in this one. See some of the fallout embedded above.
