Taylor Swift has left a Sunrise crew fuming after she had them booted off Hamilton Island for attempting to infiltrate her early birthday celebrations without an invitation.

As News Corp reports, Michelle Tapper and a crew of Channel Seven employees touched down on the privately-owned resort island yesterday and were greeted by “half a dozen” security staff at the airport.

The security team informed Tapper and her crew that there was a “total media ban” to protect the pop superstar’s privacy, which is the equivalent of a bouncer telling you you’re not on the list.

Tapper recounted to News Corp how she and her crew were detained and had their bags and camera equipment confiscated, before being escorted back to the mainland by security staff.

Tapper labelled the media ban “outrageous”, telling News Corp that she’d “never encountered anything like this in 20 years of journalism”. Leave it to T-Swift to show a media vet what’s what.

Sunrise reportedly later attempted to do a live cross from a boat near the island, but security crashed their party using their own boat, informing the Sunrise team that they had to leave.

“We weren’t there to break the rules, we never tried to sneak in,” said Tapper, who questioned the legality of being forced to leave open water. Doesn’t she know Taylor Swift is above the law?

Swift is in Australia for two weeks as she makes the rounds on her 1989 world tour. Her Hamilton Island party was reportedly attended by Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, and Gigi Hadid, as well as “a number of journalists”, according to Tapper.
