Since unleashing their third album, Hungry Ghost, on the world back in 2013, Violent Soho have become one of Australia’s most in-demand bands, selling out shows around the country and playing to massive festival crowds.

They resurfaced back in October with ‘Like Soda’, a raucous new single that opens with what frontman Luke Boerdam calls imagery of “those empty summer afternoons in a RSL and pubs – when all the pokies are empty, beer is warm and there’s nothing but horse-race noise in the background”.

Of course, that’s all before a raucous guitar firefight is unleashed. “There’s no resolution in the song – its just describing a daze we’re all in,” Boerdam said. The band have now unleashed an absolutely bonkers music video for the tune.

The clip, a collaboration with director Dan Graetz, sees the band going ape on the Bardon Bowls Club, taking over a bowls game and snorting lines off the bar before macking on some old ladies and there’s even a cameo from Macka from Cosmic Psychos.
