Finding a pair of headphones that fit your ears perfectly can be time-consuming, costly, and frustrating. But most of us don’t have the cash to fork out on a pair of custom-made headphones specially moulded for our ears.

The process takes up a lot of time. Not only do you have to have your ears moulded, you then have to wait for the headphones to arrive during which you’ll probably just end up using a one-size-fits all option anyway.

There’s also the $1,000 price tag that comes with that one-month long process. But what if there was an option to own a pair of headphones that were perfectly moulded to your ears and all it cost was $200 and about 60 seconds of your time?

Sounds pretty good, right? That’s what the backers of Revols thought. The Kickstarter campaign to fund these unique earbuds has been going absolutely gangbusters on Kickstarter. With three days to go, the campaign has racked up $1,884,959, considerably more than its $100,000 goal.

According to the campaign page, Revols remove the guesswork of buying quality headphones that fit you. Their $200 buds provide the “perfect fit, delivering the unparalleled comfort and sound you have been searching for”.

You simply place the earphones in each ear, make sure you have a good fit, press the ‘start’ button on the device’s companion smartphone app, and 60 seconds later, the gel inside of the headphones has transformed into permanently hardened buds customised for your ears.

The headphones are also wireless and the makers have partnered with Japanese corporation Onkyo, who boast more than 70 years’ experience in providing high-end audio technology, so you know the sound is going to be perfect.

Best of all, there’s still three days to pledge, so you can pick up a pair of Revols for the heavily discounted price of $199 (expected retail price will be $300) and you can expect your space-age headphones in the mail by June.
