The Dandy Warhols have announced their triumphant return, complete with a brand new album, Distortland. The band’s ninth studio effort will be on Friday, 8th April via Dine Alone Records / Cooking Vinyl Australia.

Formed in Portland, Oregon, The Dandy Warhols are Courtney Taylor (vocals, guitar), Zia McCabe (keyboards), Peter Holmstrom (guitar), and Brent DeBoer (drums), and first came to fame with singles like ‘Boys Better’ and ‘Bohemian Like You’.

The band have already shared a teaser of their first outing on Dine Alone Records, the single ‘You Are Killing Me’. The track, which you can check out below, is the first taste of new Dandys music since 2012’s This Machine.

Distortland was first recorded in Taylor’s basement on an ’80s cassette recorder, with the band placing the finishing touches in a professional studio, before it was mixed by Jim Lowe, best known for his work with Taylor Swift and Beyonce.

According to Taylor-Taylor, the end result is an album that is “organized like a pop record but still has the sonic garbage still in there”. Keep an eye out for the album on Friday, 8th April or pre-order it on iTunes now.
