Dance floor kings RÜFÜS are on a serious roll. Fresh off some very high entries in triple j’s Hottest 100 and the release of their second Number 1 ARIA album chart debut, the trio have now announced their biggest national tour to date.
RÜFÜS’ second album, Bloom, was recently unveiled to critical acclaim and even managed to feat of bumping Adele from the top spot over the weekend and the band are celebrating with a string of tour dates around the country.
This tour sees the band playing some of their biggest venues to date, including Adelaide’s Thebarton Theatre, Melbourne’s Festival Hall, Perth’s Red Hill Auditorium, Hordern Pavilion in Sydney, and Brisbane’s River Stage.
“When we approach the live show I think a really exciting thing for us is to re-imagine the songs and try to bring a new dimension and new journey to our music,” drummer James Hunt explains.
“A big part of what we do, whether it be writing a record or performing it live, is that sense of progression and that sense of tension and release. We’ve been absorbing so much live music lately so there are a million little things we want to try.”
“Writing the record was a very introverted and personal process for us, so putting it out to the world after so much time alone feels like a feat in itself, and to see this reaction is overwhelming.”
