Ozzy Osbourne popped in to online headbanger ball website knac.com for an interview recently where he let the cat out of the bag, saying that he had been discussing a reunion of the original Black Sabbath lineup of Tommy Iommi, Bill Ward, Geezer Butler and himself. He told the station that he and Ward had been discussing the possibility of an album and tour. “It’s very, very possible that the original Sabbath are gonna finally do the ultimate Sabbath album,” Ozzy wheezed. “And we’re gonna do a tour, I think. When, I don’t know. I spoke to Bill Ward yesterday, and we both say we never say ‘never’ anymore.”

The original line up of Black Sabbath practically invented the genre of heavy metal after forming in Birmingham, England in 1968. After a string of successful albums throughout the 70s, Ozzy was fired from the band in 1979 due to his drug and drinking problems, while the remaining members continued with a number of different singers throughout the 1980s and 1990s. The original line up reformed briefly in the late 1990s but released no new material.
