As Tone Deaf reported yesterday, outspoken Indigenous Australian rapper Briggs finally made his eagerly anticipated comedy debut this week with the return of ABC’s acclaimed Black Comedy sketch series.

Briggs recently took to Facebook to share one of the highlights of the series’ comeback episode, writing, “When your 3am scripts come to life on TV – was an honour to write this after Jon Bell’s bangers in Season 1.”

The script in question features a pair of police officers who shut down a party for featuring “white noise”, a.k.a. white people music, and proceed to intimidate the revellers over their music tastes and dismal ‘black-to-white ratio’.

You can check out the full ep via ABC iView here. Other highlights include Briggs’ turn as ‘Ray’, a stoic ex-convict who joins the Black Comedy writing team and proceeds to terrify everyone in the office.

Speaking to triple j last year, Briggs revealed that he’s also working on his own thing with the ABC called Cleverman. The six-part series is a “sexy and dangerous” sci-fi drama set in the near future and tells the tale of two Indigenous brothers fighting for survival in a dystopian landscape.

When your 3am scripts come to life on TV – was an honour to write this after Jon Bell's bangers in Season 1. Wednesday 9pm Black Comedy & on iView!
