UPDATE: The Splendour In The Grass 2016 lineup has finally arrived – get it right here!

If you’ve been paying attention, you’ll know that the dates for Splendour In The Grass 2016 dropped last month, immediately sending the rumour mill into overdrive, with punters eagerly awaiting the lineup that’s set to drop in the coming months.

We’ve already crunched some of the numbers and had a look at who we’ll be likely to see on the 2016 Splendour lineup, who’s in the realm of possibility, and who we can definitely count out (sorry, Adele fans).

Well, as FasterLouder reports, if you happen to be a fan of M83, Glass Animals, or Haim, prepare for a major letdown, because they’ve all just been announced for Detroit’s Mo Pop festival, which takes place at the same time as Splendour.

The US festival also features appearances from several recent visitors to our sun-kissed shores, including Father John Misty, BØRNS, Mac DeMarco, FIDLAR, and Raury.

As for those commiserating over Nothing But Thieves’ Oz tour cancellation, sorry to kick you when you’re down, but the band will also be appearing at Mo Pop, with no other Aussie appearances yet announced.

As FL note, you can also count out an appearance from electronic veterans The Chemical Brothers, since they’ll be too busy playing a gig in Italy to make the trip over to Byron Bay. That’s sad news for the ravers out there.

As we previously noted, those artists looking likely are Sia, Lana Del Rey, The Kills, The Last Shadow Puppets, Muse, and the recently reformed LCD Soundsystem. Less likely to appear are Frank Ocean, London Grammar, Missy Elliott, and Kanye West.

As for those who definitely will not be making an appearance are Weezer, who’ll be tied up in a US tour; Adele, who’s more than a bit averse to festival shows; and The Jezabels, who were recently forced to cancel all their upcoming tour dates.

Regardless of these circumstances, you can be sure the 2016 Splendour lineup will be something special. It’s set to drop in April and if previous years are anything to go by, it’ll be another big year in Byron Bay.
