Making good on a promise made back in January, UK rockers Bring Me The Horizon have now officially confirmed they will be touring Australia later this year after their initial visit as part of Soundwave 2016 was cancelled.

Taking to their official Facebook page earlier this morning, the band sent Australian fans intro a frenzy when they wrote, “In 2016 Bring Me The Horizon will tour Australia. This is not a drill. Please try to remain calm.”

The band initially let the cat out of the bag last month when they told fans in Asia, “Due to the cancelation of Soundwave fest in Aus, we have had to look at reworking our South East Asian dates to fit around our new Australian dates.”

“We will make an announcement on the rearranged dates asap. We look forward to getting to see our fans in Japan and Singapore later this year.” Now Australian fans have official confirmation of an Aussie tour in 2016.

Commenting on the cancellation of Soundwave back in December, the band said they were “gutted” to hear of its departure, adding, “Soundwave was without a doubt the best touring festival we’ve ever been a part of and we are sad to see it go.”

“For anyone hoping to catch us we are sorry, but don’t fret — we are working on our own headline tour to bring to you lot down under for sometime next year. It’s going to be a special one, so we will see you there!”

Despite being announced as part of the lineup two months prior, Bring Me The Horizon revealed early in December that they had not yet been confirmed for Soundwave 2016, giving fans the first indication that all was not well in the Soundwave camp.
