We love us some Australian hip-hop. Whether it’s the bouncy, uplifting, sample-laden beats of Hilltop Hoods or the brooding, underground sounds of ESESE, we reckon Australia is an absolute hotbed of hip-hop talent.

Of course it goes without saying that like any genre, be it heavy metal or EDM, Australian hip-hop (or skip-hop, to use the parlance) certainly has its share of tropes and cliches. It’s all just part of the fun.

Nick and Sophie from Newcastle’s NXFM recently had fun with some of these tropes, recording what they’ve dubbed “Every Aussie Hip Hop Song Ever in this 90 second clip” and we must say, it’s hilariously accurate.

Before the song starts properly, I’ll just talk real casual, not even in time / Then the DJ will make that scratching sound and the beat kicks in“, Nick raps on the tune, which you can check out below or via Facebook.
