Disconcerting news out of the AC/DC camp with the band’s longtime frontman, Brian Johnson, ordered by doctors to “stop touring immediately” or risk permanent loss of his hearing.

In a statement issued via the legendary band’s official website, the band advise fans that 10 upcoming dates of their Rock or Bust US tour have been rescheduled.

“AC/DC’s lead singer, Brian Johnson, has been advised by doctors to stop touring immediately or risk total hearing loss,” the worrying statement reads.

Details at the moment are scant, but the band advise that more information regarding the rescheduled shows is forthcoming and that the dates will likely feature a “guest vocalist”.

Obviously this throws the future of the band, who last year dealt with the departure of beloved guitarist Malcolm Young, up in the air for the time being.

Johnson replaced the late Bon Scott in 1980 and provided vocals for some of the band’s most successful albums. It’s currently unclear what his future in AC/DC looks like.
