As Tone Deaf wrote yesterday, Violent Soho’s recent in-store signings managed to totally overwhelm Melbourne’s 24Hundred record store and Red Eye Records in Sydney. But those turnouts were small potatoes compared to Brisbane.

For their hometown signing, which took place at Rocking Horse Records, fans completely took over a Brisbane street. As you can see from the photos below, fans turned out in droves to have their merch, records, and body parts signed by the rockers.

One fan had a particularly interesting (though admittedly fitting) piece of DIY merch that he got bass player Luke Henery to sign. If your mobile data is taking a while to load and you haven’t figured it out for yourself yet, some dude brought a homemade bong.

As you can see from the snap below, Henery definitely appears to be signing an empty Gatordate bottle and we don’t know about you and where you come from, but we know exactly what this young man or woman is up to and we don’t (officially) condone it one bit.

By the looks of things in the photo, the makeshift bong hasn’t been completed just yet (in other words, there’s no holes made with a soldering iron or bits of garden hose sticking out), so it could well turn up on eBay some time soon.

If you missed out on the signings but still have a couple of questions for Mansfield’s favourite sons, a couple of the Violent Soho boys will be participating in a Reddit AMA tonight from 6pm AEDT, so you’ve still got a chance.

“Mikey and Henery are going to be doing a Reddit AMA tomorrow at 6pm AEDT,” they wrote on Facebook yesterday. “That means you can go online and ask them anything you want!! We’ll post the link here tomorrow afternoon before we’re set to go live.”
