If you’ve been paying attention, you’ll know Sticky Fingers dropped their new single, ‘Outcast At Last’, yesterday, but if you’re still struggling to stay awake, take a gander at the band’s insane new music video for the single.

The clip plays out like a Guy Ritchie-esque gangster flick on psychedelics, the perfect accompaniment for the new single, which gives fans a taste of the band’s eagerly anticipated new album, set to drop some time this year.

As bassist Paddy Cornwall recently told triple j, the track, which is reminiscent of Arctic Monkeys circa AM, was recorded in Thailand, part of a four-week working holiday the band took with producer Dann Hume after their latest string of tour dates.

“We were all just pretty wrecked by the end of December and hanging there going ‘is everybody ok?’” he said. “So we found this amazing studio in Thailand as an excuse to have a holiday while keeping [things] going, staying at this amazing studio called Karma Studios.”

According to Paddy, the album is expected to drop sometime after the band’s upcoming Aussie tour. “We’re mixing it as we speak, down in Melbourne, with our man Dann Hume and it’s sounding great. We’re very excited. It’s actually much more of a live sounding album,” he said.

“On Land of Pleasure, that was the first time we had our own studio and our relationship with Dann was growing and so we were getting mega-experimental; getting deep into the production elements.”

“This album’s going to be slightly an antidote to that where it’s a lot more back-to-basics: the band, in a room, playing together. And I reckon this single is a pretty good representation of that.”
