To follow up on the incredibly exciting news that they’ll be playing the Blurst of Times Festival this month (April 16th), Brissy’s favourite five-piece The John Steel Singers have dropped an eight minute epic of a single titled ‘Can You Feel The Future’.

A rhythmic krautrock-esque beat carries woozy, psychedelic and at times jazz tinged journey to form what we think is one of the the band’s most impressive efforts to date.

JSS vocalist Tim Morrissey explains how the song came about “the song started as a loop, on my Digitech PDS 1002 back in 2010. We jammed over that for a bit and Loop School was born (attached). Then a couple of years later Scott [Bromiley – singer/ Keyboards] remembered it and came up with the funky bassline.

“We then took those new funky guts to a Welsh barnhouse and continued to refine it with the help of Jonathan Boulet on percussion. Finally we brought it back to the Plutonium and after a million hours noodling then whittling then noodling then whittling we finally settled on the best song we’ve ever put on tape.”

Check it out for yourselves below and if you like what you’re hearing be sure to pop by the band’s Facebook page for more info on upcoming shows and releases.
