Jimmy Kimmel’s Lie Witness News segment operates under a simple but brilliant premise: hipsters and young people in general will basically go along with anything you say if the alternative is looking uncool.
Kimmel sends his news crew down to hip events like Coachella and SXSW and has them interview punters to ask them whether they’ll be seeing bands and artists with made-up, nonsensical names like ‘The Vegan Alternatives’.
The interviewees fall for it and we all have a good laugh. But it appears punters at Coachella are finally wise to Kimmel’s game and they’re not putting up with any of his crap anymore. The comedian’s latest LWN segment seriously bombed.
Kimmel recently sent the LWN crew down to Indio, California to chat to punters at weekend one of Coachella and they immediately caught on to the crew’s ruse and turned the joke back on them. Check it out below.
