Last week brought the exciting news that Red Bull Music Academy Weekender would be heading over to Sydney this September, bringing a four-day extravaganza featuring 40 artists and 12 shows curates by Jimmy Sing (Goodgod Small Club) and Jamie Bennett (Crown Ruler).

With an eagerly anticipated full lineup set to drop in June, organisers have now announced the first show and headliner for Red Bull Music Academy Weekender Sydney and it’s none other than Flight Facilities, who’ll be performing with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

Following the Aussie electronic duo’s universally acclaimed, sold-out performance with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra as part of last year’s Melbourne Festival, the pair will be performing alongside the 50-piece SSO with some special guests under the stars in The Domain.

Meanwhile, Red Bull Music Academy Weekender Sydney will be bringing “a globally renowned, four-day city takeover and curatorial festival program” to Sydney, celebrating Sydney’s cultural identity with a jam-packed roster of unique talks, events, and performances.

A recent announcement for the Red Bull Music Academy Festival in New York featured the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Spike Lee, and Anohni, so you can be sure organisers have something very special up their sleeves for the their Sydney Weekender. See below for details.
