Yes, it’s yet another nostalgia party put on by a local music venue, but who cares when it’s this awesome? On Saturday, 18th June, The Foundry in Brisbane will be hosting a Tony Hawk Pro Skater tribute party.

The game, which first came out in 1999, “the year that gave us Futurmama, SpongeBob SquarePants, [and] Napster”, not only sucked much of our time in the ’90s-’00s, it also came with some killer soundtracks.

An entire generation of kids were introduced to the likes of the Dead Kennedys, Suicidal Tendencies, Primus, The Vandals, and Goldfinger thanks to Tony Hawk Pro Skater, and that was only the first game.

To celebrate this touchstone in the musical development of Australia’s youth, The Foundry will have local bands Hound., DELUSO, and DEEDS covering some of your favourite tracks from the first three games.

“We’ll have video game consoles set up for all the THPS nostalgia you can handle as well as competitions, student friendly prices + the venue will be decked out like the warehouse level from THPS 1,” they write.
