Back in February, American songstress Halsey hit the triple j studios and gave us what we called the most “un-triple j” Like A Version ever, thought it was also one of the best we’ve seen in a year that’s had quite a few stellar Like A Version covers.

The New Jersey native lent her powerful pipes to a cover of pop sensation Justin Bieber’s ‘Love Yourself’ whilst donning a Kanye West Yeezus T-shirt and we loved the irony of a pop star covering another pop star whilst wearing the T-shirt of another pop star on triple j.

Well, today’s Like A Version, which comes courtesy of New York duo MS MR, who are currently in the country doing the rounds on the Groovin The Moo tour, may just be the most triple j Like A Version we’ve seen in some time.

In fact, it’s a bona fide triple j love fest, with an act beloved by our national youth broadcaster, MS MR, performing a song that gets non-stop love from the station, ‘Genghis Khan’ by Swedish indie pop outfit Miike Snow.

As we’ve previously noted, this year’s Like A Version series has gotten off to an interesting start – we’ve seen a heart-wrenching David Bowie cover, an ambitious mash-up from this year’s Hottest 100 winners, a deeply divisive cover of a huge hit from 2015, and a cover that showed us what Like A Version is meant to be.
