Aussie music legend Daniel Johns threw a serious curveball at his longtime fans when the Silverchair frontman unveiled his first full-length solo album last year.

Entitled Aerial Love, the album was a far cry from the grunge or epic art rock of Silverchair, and was instead marked by a future R&B sound akin to Chet Faker.

Now, Johns has returned with another slice of electronic noise courtesy of Perth duo Slumberjack, who tapped the singer for a collab on their latest tune, ‘Open Fire’.

The track, which comes just a couple short weeks after Slumberjack were announced as part of the lineup for Splendour In The Grass, certainly has an Aerial Love feel to it.
