I Killed The Prom Queen have taken to their official Facebook page in the hopes of tracking down a promoter they allege owes them and several other Australian hardcore acts more than $7,000, naming and shaming promoter Keiran Pittar over social media.

“If anyone knows the whereabouts or physical address of former Toowoomba/Brisbane resident Keiran Pittar (ex-member of my friend the betrayer), please contact us immediately,” the band wrote on Facebook, via The Music. “Last known to be living in Perth WA.”

“This so called ‘promoter’ put on our Toowoomba show on the Rise of Brotality tour back in November 2014, received the ticket money transfer from Oztix, never paid us and then disappeared.”

“He owes us over $7,000, part of which is owed also to The Ghost Inside, In Hearts Wake, Bury Tomorrow and Hellions. Before he ceased communication with us he said ‘I can’t pay you the money because I spent it all’.”

“We have also learned we are not the first band he has ripped off. He recently drove for Make Them Suffer on a tour and returned their rental equipment over a week late racking up a debt of hundreds of dollars and several other bands including his ex band members have reached out to us talking of his deception.”

“It’s crooked promoters like this which end up affecting the shows you go to and the bands you want to see play. Band’s tour for a living and they only make money when fans pay for tickets and merchandise, and men like Keiran Pittar compromise that by stealing from bands and the fans.”

The members of Prom Queen have urged fans to get in contact with the band if they know anything about Pittar’s current location so they can “pursue legal action”, adding links to Pittar’s LinkedIn account and an article about a past assault incident involving the promoter.

As The Music notes, several members of the local heavy music community have left less-than-flattering accounts of their interactions with Pittar on Prom Queen’s thread, including Rivals’ Daniel Lohrey, who alleged Pittary owes him “in excess of $1,000”.

“He’s been known to snake people in the local scene,” Lohrey wrote. “From booking agents and promoters to venues and bands. All of this was unbeknownst to me before I decided to work with him. He’s originally from Toowoomba.”
