The time has certainly flown by, but triple j’s digital sister station Double J, which offers an ‘adult alternative’ playlist, has officially been on the air for two years, recently celebrating its second birthday.

They marked the occasion by releasing an infographic jam-packed with stats about the music Myf Warhurst and the rest of the crew played over the past 12 months, revealing that most of the music played was released in the last six years.

Apparently, this has rubbed some the wrong way, who think Double J should sound more like a ‘Best of ’90s College Radio’ playlist on Spotify. To that end, they’ve gone ahead and created a podcast literally titled What Double J Should Sound Like.

“If the ‘new’ Double J was really Double J this is what it would sound like,” is how the podcast is described on its official Facebook page, with playlists comprised of a diverse range of throwback tracks by the likes of Bjork, Beastie Boys, The Stranglers, and more.
