Is anyone else starting to feel like Melbourne is the spoilt child of Australia? It certainly is when it comes to nightlife and awesome new music venues. Well, sorry other cities and states, but Victoria’s gone and made it all about itself again.

As Concrete Playground reports, a new live music space has opened in Hawthorn. Dubbed Untz Untz (y’know, like the sound you make when you’re imitating electronic dance music), it’s located on Glenferrie Road and has a 24-hour license.

Wait, what?

Yeah, this baby can technically operate around the clock, so your party never has to end. According to Concrete Playground, Untz Untz will be open four nights a week, with each night dedicated to a specific theme and yes, bands are soon to be on the agenda.

Cheers Tuesdays is geared at uni students, Animal House is on Thursday, Beta Bar Fridays is for cosplay and video nerds, and a night entitled Adultery on Saturdays. It’s for the over-21 crowd and will feature a mix of house, techno, disco, hip hop, soul, and more.

The word is management have a view to eventually making live music one of the main draw cards of their nights, but in the meantime you can cut sick on their infinity light-up dance floor. We don’t quite know what that is, but we want it.

There’s also set to be a few expansions in the coming months, with a pub called Holy Moly and an accompanying bar called Boozy Soozy to be added by September. They latter will reportedly serve up $4 pizzas and cocktails on tap.
