Musicians having trouble with airlines, whether it’s missing luggage or damaged equipment, is nothing new and we’ve covered it extensively, but it’s particularly troubling when such incidents occur in the middle of an international tour.

Dallas Frasca should be on top of the world right now. They just performed a widely acclaimed set at Melbourne’s Cherry Rock festival and they’re currently in Paris to kick off their European tour, but something is threatening to derail the entire tour.

“So we arrived safe and sound in Paris from Australia but discovered Josh’s cymbals and snare (worth over $4,000) plus a tonne of merch (packed into his snare case) have been lost by Etihad Airways,” the band recently took to Facebook to write.

“We have made countless phone calls with the baggage tag number plus the report we submitted at the airport but Eithad don’t seem to have it on record? Our first show is in Paris tonight… Looks like Josh is going to be playing ‘air drums’ or will Eithad replace the lost baggage.”

Luckily, the band were able to scrape together some equipment to prevent Josh from having to play phantom drums, but in a recent update the band reveal that they still haven’t recovered the equipment and Etihad aren’t being all that helpful.

“Still no word from Etihad Airways about Josh’s missing Ludwig Australia snare, SABIAN Cymbal Company, 20 pairs of Vic Firth drum sticks and merch all valued at over $4,000,” the band told fans.

“We borrowed and bought bits and pieces to make the gig work tonight but not sure what to do for the rest of the tour. There is no way we could ever replace some of these loved items and no way we could afford to find alternatives in such a short amount of time.”

Etihad’s social media manager apparently caught wind of the band’s complaints and responded to one of their posts, assuring them they would pass the issue on to their “dedicated team”, to which the band simply replied, “We have heard that 5 times now but still no answers?”
